What is Cengage Unlimited?

Cengage Unlimited is a subscription that gives a student access to the entire library of e-books published by Cengage and access to Cengage courses your instructor may use. The access code we sell at the bookstore will provide access to your specific course and also to all other Cengage titles. Ask your instructor if a Cengage title will be used in your course. What is the e-book course fee?

VC has an institutional digital course materials program in which selected courses are designated “e-book courses” by the faculty. For each designate e-book course, the college charges a mandatory course fee.  All students who enroll in a course that requires a college e-book will be charged a course fee which will appear in their overall tuition and fees. Who selects the textbooks or course materials for students?

Instructors assign course materials they think will best serve as a core source of information to compliment, amplify, expand, and enrich what is presented in class or online.

 

What happens if I purchase a defective book?

With your original receipt; we will automatically replace your new book with a new book. If you purchased a used book and we do not have used inventory, then we will apply the used book credit towards the purchase of a new book.

 

How can I receive financial assistance for my course materials?

How do I sell back my books?

If you have a textbook that you will not be using again, please bring it by the bookstore as soon as you can. We will be glad to scan it and hopefully buy it from you. Buyback information will not be given over the phone. All that is required for a buyback is your photo I.D. (current student I.D. or driver’s license). No receipt is required. How do I know what book I rented?

Your original receipt will list the book you rented, but you can visit us, call us, or email us your V# and name and we can provide that information to you.

 

When will my financial aid funds be available in the bookstore?

VC financial aid funds (including loans, Pell, and scholarships) will transfer over to the bookstore system 24 hours after registration. Your tuition is paid first and then the remainder balance will move over to the bookstore. For FALL financial aid, this process will start the middle of July. For SPRING financial aid, this process will start at the end of November. For Summer financial aid, this process will start the middle of April. Please check with us for specific dates. You need your V# and picture I.D. to charge on your financial aid account.
